On Saturday, 4th February , we were delighted to welcome back to school our 1990 Leavers.
With the help of Andy Jones (OKS 1990) we had 30 in attendance along with previous and current staff. We were delighted that Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis (OKS 1990) found time in his busy schedule to attend.
Alumni were treated to a drinks reception and a tour of the school during which they were able to see the many developments to the site, a big change for some who haven’t been back to school in over 30 years.
Following the tour, (and the after the England vs Scotland game!) Headmaster, George Hartley, gave a short presentation to the group.
The former scholars enjoyed taking the time to look through the archive material and photos from their time at King’s, bringing back many fond memories, especially of Mark Lenel’s self-portrait and one of a shoe!
A delicious meal was then served in our wonderful Terrace Café, where the drinks continued to flow.
For many, it continued well into the night at the Brewers Tap which is owned by one of 1990 Leavers, it’s not what you know it’s who you know!
Thank you all for coming – it was great to see so many of you.
