Following a rigorous application and interview process, our new Head of School team for the 2024-2025 academic year has been announced.
Head of School will be Jonni Ashton (L6DUT) and the two Deputy Heads of School are Piya Saha (L6WAL) and Adaora Ekwueme (L6GLA).
The announcement was made by Head of Sixth Form, Josh Carter, who commended all of the candidates who put themselves forward for the roles.
He said: “The Head and I were impressed with the calibre of the applicants this year and we know that Jonni, Piya and Adaora will complement each other to make an excellent team.”
Mr Carter went on to highlight the importance of the Head of School team.
He said: “The Head of School Team play a vital role both within the Sixth Form and as part of the wider school community, managing School Council meetings and meeting regularly with the Headmaster and Head of Sixth Form.
“They support the assembly system and are key representatives for the school on public occasions.”
Jonni is looking forward to the year ahead: “Adaora, Piya and I are keen to make a difference and amplify pupil voice in the school; I can’t wait to get started in the role as Head of School.”
The next stage of the process is to choose Lead Prefects and applications have been invited from current Lower Sixth students. All Sixth Formers are given the opportunity to take on positions of responsibility and leadership, whether that is part of the House system, as subject prefects, or leading on events, charity, sustainability, Mental Fitness or anti-bullying.
