Artwork good enough to eat!

Congratulations to young artists in Willow Lodge and Junior School who recently took part in the 2025 AJIS Art Exhibition.

Held at The Grange Junior School in March, pupils were invited to submit pieces of work on the theme of Food, Glorious Food.

All pupils were encouraged to enter with Infant 2 teachers Mrs Hartley-Richards and Junior School art teacher Kirsty Savage coordinating the entries from The King’s School.

Both teachers were delighted with the quality of the artwork they received from pupils.

Mrs Hartley-Richards said: “We received so many creative entries to the competition and I was proud of the quality of work that we submitted to the competition.

“One of the most impressive things was the variety of media used by our pupils. We had everything from paintings to photography, and from sculptures to mixed media.”

Mrs Hartley-Richards visited the exhibition and was proud to see the King’s artwork on display: “Many of our children were placed in the top three in their age category, and others were highly commended for their work.”

Some of the winners are pictured in the gallery below, and those who placed in the top three in their category are listed underneath:
