Careers Breakfast: Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeon Mr Rishi Sharma

Many thanks to Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeon Mr Rishi Sharma who presented at his second careers breakfast this morning.

Mr Sharma shared an interesting insight into the often misunderstood field of plastic surgery, and gave sound advice to the aspiring medics in the audience.

Speaking mainly to Lower Sixth students who are hoping to study Medicine at university, Mr Sharma spoke about his motivations for becoming a doctor and choosing his speciality, as well as the skills and characteristics needed to succeed in the field. He also talked about the importance of gaining experience in a clinical environment.

Head of Careers Dr Hensman said: “I would like to thank Mr Sharma for a very informative and carefully thought-out presentation, which really engaged the students and enriched their wider understanding of a career in medicine, as well as giving them the opportunity to learn more about the field of reconstructive and plastic surgery.”

Our next careers breakfast will take place on Friday, 9 June with Occupational Therapist and NHS Manager, Stephen Levitt. Students can sign up now on SOCS.
