Careers Breakfast: Nicholas Hercules

It was a pleasure to welcome Nicholas Hercules to King’s for the first Careers Breakfast of the 2023/24 academic year.

Students from all year groups were fascinated to hear about Mr Hercules’ experiences of working for the United Nations for the last 21 years.

His roles have included leading the UN Development Programme in Gaza in the immediate aftermath of the 51-day war, working at the forefront of UN Peacekeeping’s Covid-19 support efforts in South Sudan, and more than four years working in the UN office in Afghanistan.

As well as sharing his own career experiences, Mr Hercules also explained the scope of the work of the United Nations, routes into the UN and the variety of career options within the organisation.

Many thanks for Mr Hercules for a very interesting insight into work at the United Nations.
