Thank you to former student Nicola Temple (OKS 2015) who returned to King’s to speak at this morning’s careers breakfast.
Nicola is an RF Systems Engineer who works in Radar development and she gave students an excellent overview of what her work involves.
After taking A Levels in Maths, Physics and Further Maths at King’s, Nicola studied Avionic Systems at the University of Liverpool.
Students enjoyed an insight into careers in engineering and took on board Nicola’s advice about choosing a subject that you are interested in and enjoy.
Nicola’s interest in aircraft stems from her time in the RAF section of CCF when she was at King’s and she was pleased to see some of our current cadets present at her talk. She is pictured here with James and Tom, two CCF cadets in Fourths and Fifths.
Head of Careers, Dr Hensman, thanked Nicola for joining us as part of our Next Steps initiative that gives current students the opportunity to connect with recent Alumni.
He said: “It is really valuable for students to hear from Alumni who are in the early stages of their career; the students today had lots of questions about engineering courses at university, how Nicola decided which course to choose, and what she enjoyed at school.
“Hearing from people who were in their position just a few years ago is really powerful as it helps them see the pathway from school into a rewarding career.”
