Congratulations to Peter Evans (U6LES) who has accepted a year-long choral scholarship at Lincoln Cathedral.
Peter, who plans to study music at university after his year in Lincoln is very active in the musical life of King’s and has also sung with Chester Cathedral Choir for a number of years.
Having always planned to have a gap year before university, Peter explained why he made the decision to apply for a choral scholarship.
He said: “A choral scholarship combines the opportunity to continue doing something I love, cathedral singing, with a degree of freedom before university. I will be paid for the year, and given accommodation, so will be able to live independently and enjoy life in a new city.
“I am also excited that I will be singing every day in such an amazing building with an established and well regarded choir.”
He was awarded the scholarship following an audition and interview at the end of last year. During his time in Lincoln, he will sing every service at the cathedral, help with the younger choristers and is also hoping to volunteer in other areas of cathedral life.
