Firefighter visit for Infant 2

On Thursday, 23 March, Firefighter Mike Richards brought his firefighting equipment with him to talk to children in Infant 2 about his job and about fire safety.

Our Kingfisher and Nightingale classes have been learning about the Great Fire of London this term and were interested to hear about how Firefighter Mike and his colleagues would put out a fire and help people in need.

Along with helping Mike to unroll the hosepipe and practising with the lifesaving equipment, the children also had fun trying on the firefighter uniform.

Mr Blakemore is one of the Infant 2 teachers and he thanked Mike for his time.

He said: “It has been very interesting for the children to see the firefighting equipment and hear about how we can all stay safe.

“We are very grateful to Firefighter Mike for giving up his time to talk to us today, it is a visit that the children will remember for a long time to come.”
