On Friday, 16 June, children in Infant 1 were treated to a day filled with circus-themed fun.
To conclude this term’s topic, The day the circus came to town, Willow Lodge was transformed into the Big Top for one day only as welcomed Angelo and Melanie from Magical Circus.
Melanie gave the children a fascinating insight into the history of the circus, including opportunities to dress up in traditional circus costumes, and stories from Angelo’s family who have been in the circus for generations.
Under Angelo’s expert tuition, the children enjoyed practising a range of circus skills including plate spinning and walking on stilts, before watching the experts put on a show of their own.
Miss Gardiner is one of the Infant 1 teachers and thanked Angelo and Melanie for bringing the circus to King’s.
She said: “What a wonderful way to finish our circus topic! Not only have they enjoyed a taste of the circus, they have had the chance to get involved themselves.
“They all worked really hard to master the skills that Angelo taught them and it was great to see them learn from their mistakes and keep trying until they succeeded!”
