Gallery: Hockey tour to The Netherlands

In the first week of the half-term holiday, hockey players from Thirds, Fourths and Fifths embarked on a tour in The Netherlands.

As well as benefiting from professional training sessions and a number of fixtures against local sides, the exciting itinerary also gave players the opportunity to experience local culture, enjoy leisure activities together and even attend a professional league match at HGC, one of the oldest and most successful hockey clubs in The Netherlands and one the former clubs of our Director of Hockey, Mr Egerton,

Activities on the trip included entertaining and informative tours of The Hague and Delft, bowling, glow golf and a visit to the Pancake House. For many of the touring players, the highlight of the trip was a meet and greet with Dutch international Jeroen Hertzberger, who plays for Hockey Club Rotterdam.

Director of Sport, Richard Lunn, accompanied the trip.

He said: “Sports tours give players a great opportunity to focus on training, face new opposition and bond with their teammates.

“It was an absolute pleasure to tour with this group of talented players and see them get so much out of the experience. They were a credit to themselves and to the school.”
