The winners of the Senior School House art competition were recently announced by the Headmaster, bringing to a conclusion many weeks of collaborative work within our eight school Houses.
Each House was tasked with creating an original piece of art that represented the House motto and logo and included the collaborative efforts of every student in the House.
House prefects led the project, organising students in every year group to ensure that their House made the best use of the limited materials made available to them.
Over the course of a week, the artworks were displayed in the gallery and pupils in Removes and Junior School, along with members of staff who have no House allegiance were invited to vote for their favourite.
Judged against strict criteria, Gladstone was announced as the winning House. Students from Gladstone are pictured here with acting Head of House, Miss Roberts, and Gladstone tutor, Mr Downey.
Miss Roberts is very proud of how well the students worked together to create the piece of art.
She said: “It has been wonderful to see the students work together on a collaborative project that spanned the year groups.
“One of the joys of the House system is seeing students of all ages interact with each other and I am very proud of what they achieved together.”
When he announced the results, Mr Hartley thanked Ms Black who organised the competition, and congratulated all of the students on their collaborative efforts.
Well done also to Bradbury who came in third place and Walsh who finished in second place.
