Development of the new Sixth Form Centre is continuing apace, with a new roof recently installed and completion on track for the Summer Term.
The contractors are currently working to make the roof weather-tight before Christmas and Head of Estates, Jonathan Roberts, is pleased with the progress of the project.
He said: “I am excited that we will soon reach the next milestone of a weather-tight building as that means we can start work on the interior of the building.”
Internal fire protection works have already begun and there are plans to clad the building in the new year.
Jonathan continued: “We are at a key time in the development. We have chosen the cladding for the exterior of the building and when that goes on, we will really start to see the difference.
“When you enter site now, you can really appreciate the height of the drama space and lecture theatre.
“When construction of the internal walls on the first floor begins in the new year, we will see the beginnings of a really impressive learning environment with high ceilings and lots of natural light.”
