Hockey: U13 boys take national silver

Our first national medal of the season came from the U13 boys who won silver at the recent ISHC Plate Finals in Nottingham.

Playing against three other teams, King’s finished second in their group to reach the final.

King’s faced Trinity Croydon in the final. Despite having lost to Trinity in their group, King’s battled hard and outplayed the opposition for much of the game.

The game ended in a draw and went to penalties, which Trinity won, leaving King’s with the silver medal.

Coach Dr Chris Ashcroft commended the team on their performance.

He said: “The boys played really well, it was such a great effort from this mixed team of Removes and Shells.

“Today’s performance was worthy of the gold but we move on, learn from every game we play and we will use this experience for the In2Hockey National Finals in May.”
