Imogen’s starring role at FA Cup Final

Eagle-eyed viewers of this year’s FA Cup Final may have spotted a familiar face as the teams came out on to the pitch on Saturday.

Lifelong Manchester City fan Imogen Pugh (RMRA) had the honour of accompanying Kevin de Bruyne as a team mascot for the game that would confirm them as winners of the English domestic double.

Keen footballer Imogen arrived at Wembley Stadium three hours before kick-off and enjoyed a tour of the dressing rooms, lunch in the Lioness’s changing room and even had the opportunity to sit in the managers’ pitch-side seats.

In more pre-match excitement, she also met David Beckham and Prince William before she stepped out on to the famous pitch with the Manchester City team.

As she made her way to her seat to watch the match with her Dad, Imogen missed the first goal, which was scored after a record-breaking 12 seconds. However, that didn’t detract from her enjoyment of the game.

She said: “It was a really exciting day and the highlight for me was definitely City’s win!

“Going out on to the pitch with Kevin de Bruyne is something that I will never forget, and it was great to be sitting so close to where the players came to collect the trophy from Prince William.

“I will treasure the flag and the personalised kit I was given forever.”

Imogen is a regular member of the Removes A team and also plays for the Wrexham AFC U12 development team and Airbus U13 girls.
