Congratulations to our U19 girls indoor hockey team who were crowned regional champions on Wednesday, 16 November.
The competition was held at The Grange School and the girls enjoyed decisive wins in their first two matches.
Facing Wilmslow in the final, King’s took an early lead but the opposition quickly equalised, soon going 3-2 ahead.
The team dug in and renewed the pressure on Wilmslow with Priya Kerfoot (L6GRO) converting corner after corner. At the final whistle, King’s took the win with an impressive 7-3 score line.
Deputy Head Pastoral, Claire Sumner, accompanied the team and was delighted with their performance.
She said: “The County Indoor Hockey final is traditionally a successful competition for King’s, and we delighted that this year was no exception.
“The girls played as a team with each of them giving an excellent performance. They fully deserved to bring the shield home to King’s!”
