Junior School runners top the table

On 1 February, 37 boys and girls from J1 to J4 represented King’s in the ISA North Region Junior Cross Country Championship.

Travelling to Scarisbrick School near Ormskirk, they raced against children from 27 schools around the region.

The J3 and J4 (Year 5/6) boys and girls both topped their groups in the team results with Poppy, Clara, Harry S, Freddie, Maxwell and Jake all placing in the top ten of their respective groups.

The J1 and J2 (Year 3/4) pupils also placed well, with the girls finishing in joint third position and the boys coming in fourth.

Mr O’Neil, Mrs Grove and Mrs Willis coach the cross country teams and praised the runners’ attitude and effort.

They said: “We are very proud of all of the runners. Every one of them gave their best on a challenging course and it was wonderful to see them all crossing the finish line with smiles on their faces.”
