On the weekend of 22 January, a number of King’s Equestrian Team members competed this weekend at the NSEA Show Jumping event at Kelsall Hill.
The team comprised of Scarlett Gilruth (SHLES), Immi Gilruth (J4M), Sandy Walley (RMMB), Lucy Scott (SHWAL), Finlay Montgomery (5GRO) and Victoria Hood (5DUT) who part in both individual and team events.
The team produced some impressive results, most notably Sandy Walley on Ringo, placing third in the 70cm individual qualifier. Sandy and Ringo also placed fifth in the 80cm qualifier with the team placing second out of thirteen in the same event.
Finally, Scarlett, riding Topwood Twizzle, won the 1.10m Advanced Open to round off what was a fantastic day of Show Jumping.
Headmaster, George Hartley who paid a visit to the event said: “I really enjoyed my trip to the Kelsall Equestrian Centre today to see our King’s team compete. Bravo to Victoria, Fin, Scarlett, Immie, Lucy and Sandy. I was hugely impressed!”
