We love to celebrate the achievements of our pupils and, thanks to 89 of our Junior School pupils, we already have reason to celebrate in the first full week of the new school year.
On our return to school, we were excited to learn that an impressive 100% of pupils were awarded a Distinction in their LAMDA Speech and Drama exams this summer, with three pupils receiving the maximum possible number of marks.
LAMDA teacher Ravanne Hamer is very proud of all of them.
She said: “This group of talented young people have showed real dedication throughout the year. These exams gave them the opportunity to showcase their creative prowess and they certainly did themselves proud.
“We have a lot of fun in our LAMDA lessons but the skills the children learn are very real; as well as giving them an outlet for their creativity and developing their self-expression, I see them grow in confidence and become really excellent public speakers.
“Huge congratulations to all of our LAMDA stars!”
LAMDA is very popular throughout the school with more than 150 pupils taking weekly lessons from our youngest children in Willow Lodge, right through to Sixth Form. In Senior School and Sixth Form, we offer an enhanced range of LAMDA courses with courses including Acting, Shakespeare, and Speaking in Public, all of which help them to develop key skills.
There are limited LAMDA spaces still available for this academic year. If your child would like to take lessons, please contact the drama department in Senior School, or the Reception staff in Junior School and Willow Lodge.
