It was finally time to celebrate for King’s A Level students as their outstanding results saw them secure places at some of the top universities in the country.
It was another fantastic year for first-choice university places, with 2024 leavers going on to study a diverse range of subjects including medicine, law, aerospace engineering, theology and neuroscience.
Six students gained a place to study medicine, with eight choosing to study Law. Psychology (eight students) and Economics (six students) also proved to be popular choices this year. In total, 12 students will join Durham University, eight will study at Exeter University and one student will take up at place at The University of Oxford.
Almost 30% of pupils achieved an A* grade, with 79% of pupils achieving at least one or more grade As. Overall, more than half of all grades were A*/A and nearly 80% were A*/B.
An incredible 83% of grades for the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) were A*-A. Five subjects celebrated more than 65% of grades at A*/A, with eight departments achieving 100% A*-B.
Head of Sixth Form, Josh Carter, said: “I wish them all the very best for the next chapter of their academic careers. I am pleased to see that the pathways they’ve chosen, in terms of university courses or ambitious gap years, reflect their true passions and interests.
“They’ve worked hard for these results and they can embrace their future with the confidence that comes from a job well done.”
