On Wednesday, 29 January, 150 pupils from Thirds, Fourths and Fifths took part in the UK Mathematical Trust (UKMT) Intermediate Maths Challenge.
The Intermediate Maths Challenge is a 60-minute, multiple-choice competition designed to encourage mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems.
Pupils performed very well, with 81 pupils achieving a certificate and seven progressing to the next round.
12 pupils achieved a gold certificate, 26 achieved silver and 43 achieved bronze.
Congratulations to those who were named best in year; Ralph Pardo-Tuma in Thirds, Joel Thompson in Fourths and Wiktor Lech (pictured below) in Fifths, who was also named best in school.
