Matteo achieves Master Cadet qualification

Becoming a Master Cadet is said to be the pinnacle of a Cadet’s career and Sixth Former, Matteo Molica-Franco (L6WER) has achieved just that.

Mateo, who is part of the Army Cadet Force in a battalion that spans the width of North Wales, travelled down to the National Cadet Training Centre at Frimley Park in Camberley where he spent a week taking part in the Master Cadet Course.

Matteo said: “The Master Cadet qualification is the highest course a Cadet can complete and the whole experience tested me in a way that I have never been tested before.”

Carried out over a total of seven challenging days, Matteo spent four days out in the field on exercise.

He continued: “Throughout the course, every aspect of how we conducted ourselves as leaders was assessed. In the end I was delighted to walk away with a pass, as well as gaining a thorough insight into what the internal workings of the regular Army might be like.”

Many congratulations to Mateo on this impressive achievement, and on his promotion to WO2 and appointment to Company Sergeant Major. Matteo’s promotion means that he is now the most senior cadet in the North Wales Battalion, Clwyd and Gwynedd.
