Meet our new Lead Prefects

Our lead prefects play an important role in the life of The King’s School, undertaking a wide range of duties across the whole school.

Pupils are invited to apply for prefect roles in their Lower Sixth year. They will often choose to focus on an area of personal interest such as sport, the library or sustainability, or to apply for the competitive Heads of House roles.

Head of Sixth Form, Josh Carter, explained why the prefect system is important.

He said: “As prefects, pupils take on significant responsibility and, throughout the year, we see their leadership and teamwork skills really developing.

“The prefect roles demand that pupils show reliability and cooperation, and that they can manage their time effectively to balance their studies with their responsibilities. This is all great preparation for university and working life.

“Our lead prefects are ambassadors for the school and they are role models for pupils in lower years and I am delighted that we have such an outstanding group of young adults in these roles this year.”
