Congratulations are in order to our U13 Netball squad who recently won the County Plate at the Cheshire Netball County Schools tournament, and to our U14s who finished second in the County Cup competition.
The tournament, held at Winsford Academy, has a County Cup and County Plate up for grabs and attracts competitive squads from schools across the county.
Tina Cox, Director of Netball at King’s, is the U13 team coach.
She said: “The U13 girls performed brilliantly in the Plate competition; their passing was quick, they fought hard for the ball and they displayed top-class shooting skills to cruise from the semis into a tough final against Bridgewater.
“After a slow start in the final, the second half performance saw the girls catch up to level the score at full time, forcing the game into extra time. With cool heads and excellent passes, the golden goal was scored to see them secure the Plate win.”
In their age group, The U14 team narrowly missed out on the County Cup by just one point in the final. Their coach, Miss Massey, is incredibly proud of their performance throughout the tournament.
She said: “The girls were gutted to miss out on the win by just one point but they should be extremely proud of themselves.
“It has been fantastic to see the progress they have made since the beginning of the season, losing just two games throughout the whole tournament.”
