New Head of School team announced

Following a rigorous application and interview process, our new Head of School team for the 2025-2026 academic year has been announced.

Head of School will be Rory Mallinson (L6WER) and the two Deputy Heads of School are Ava Hardstaff (L6DUT) and Libby Greenberg (L6GLA).

The announcement was made by Head of Sixth Form, Josh Carter, who commended all of the candidates who put themselves forward for the roles.

He said: “The Head and I were impressed with all of the applicants this year and thank everyone who expressed an interest in being Head of School. We are certain that Rory, Ava and Libby will make an excellent team.”

Each of the members of the new Head of School team spoke of different priorities in their application.

Rory would like to introduce a school-wide mentoring system which will allow younger pupils to learn from those in older years, whilst providing the mentors with an opportunity to develop leadership skills. In addition, he is keen to establish a Sixth Form council that would work to further improve the Sixth Form experience for all students.

Libby, who joined King’s in the Lower Sixth from another school, would like to help new pupils integrate smoothly into the school, and Ava expressed her wish to enhance social interaction in different year groups.

Mr Carter highlighted the importance of the Head of School team.

He said: “The Head of School Team play a vital role both within the Sixth Form and as part of the wider school community, meeting regularly with the Headmaster and Head of Sixth Form, and managing School Council meetings.

“They support the assembly system and are key representatives for the school on public occasions.”

Rory is looking forward to the year ahead: “Libby, Ava and I are keen to make a difference and we can’t wait to get started in our new roles.”

The next stage of the process is the selection of Lead Prefects and applications have been invited from current Lower Sixth students. All Sixth Formers are given the opportunity to take on positions of responsibility and leadership, whether that is part of the House system, as subject prefects, or leading on events, charity, sustainability, Mental Fitness or anti-bullying.
