Proud CCF staff receive Queen’s medal

The first CCF parade of the year was marked with a short but poignant medal presentation to recognise the contingent’s long-serving members of staff.

The Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal was commissioned to be awarded during Her late Majesty’s jubilee year to people who work in public service, including in the Armed Forces. Our uniformed cadet force volunteers received the medal for giving five or more continuous years of service.

Held just one week after the passing of Her Majesty, the presentation carried a special significance, and Headmaster George Hartley reflected on this as he awarded the special medals.

He said: “We have spent the last week remembering the Queen’s own life of unrelenting service and it therefore feels appropriate that we can present these medals in her name this evening.

“CCF gives cadets so many opportunities for collaboration, leadership and personal development, and these are only possible thanks to the adults who are recognised with these medals.”

Congratulations, and thank you, to the recipients of the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal:
