Pupils hit all the right notes at lunchtime recital

The first lunchtime recital of 2025 was a huge success with musicians from across the Senior School playing a varied programme of musical pieces.

From music by The Eagles (guitar ensemble) and Frank Sinatra (brass ensemble) to a delightful rendition of A spoon full of sugar from Mary Poppins by our new Removes string quartet, there was something for everyone. As well as our ensembles, the audience also enjoyed solo pieces by some of our talented pianists.

Director of Music, Debbie Whitfield, thanked staff and pupils for supporting the musicians.

She said: “It was wonderful to see so many people here for today’s lunchtime recital.

“Playing in front of peers and teachers is a great way for young musicians to build performance confidence, and there really is no better way for the audience to spend a lunchtime!”
