Removes join their new Houses

Two weeks ago, Removes pupils gathered in the Vanbrugh Theatre for a special assembly to receive their new House ties.

Joined in the theatre by Lower Sixth students, our youngest Senior School pupils were excited to find out which of the eight King’s Houses they would be joining.

Each Head of House welcomed their newest members with a short speech before the pupils were called to the stage to receive their tie from the House prefects.

The special assembly was led by Deputy Head Pastoral, Mrs Sumner. She said: “This is a really special occasion for the Removes as it signifies their next stage at school.

“They will stay in their House until they leave in Upper Sixth, keeping the same form tutor throughout.

“Their tutor will get to know them as they grow, and will guide them through the years ahead. They will also develop relationships with students in different year groups within their House, working on House competitions and projects.”

Since the assembly, all Removes have spent time with their new tutors and tutor group, and also competed for their new House at Sports Day
