Congratulations to our exceptional Sixth Form mathematicians on their success in the recent UKMT Senior Mathematical Challenge.
A total of 45 students took part in the competition and we were delighted to achieve an impressive total of 35 certificates; eight Bronze, 17 Silver and ten Gold.
A special mention goes to Alice Downey (U6WER) who achieved a Gold certificate and was named Best in School, and to Ting Lew (L6GLA) who also achieved Gold and was awarded Best in Year for Lower Sixth. All Gold certificate winners now qualify for The Senior Kangaroo, the next round of the competition which will take place in November.
The Senior Mathematical Challenge is a 90 minute, multiple-choice challenge which aims to encourage mathematical reasoning, precision of thought and fluency. The problems on the Senior Mathematical Challenge are designed to be challenging and to make students think.
