Skye selected for global F1 talent scheme

Skye Parker (3DUT), who has experienced huge success in karting, is set to take her motorsport to the next level after being selected for an elite driver development programme.

The More than Equal programme is an independent global motorsport initiative with a mission to find and develop the first female F1 world champion. Announcing their first cohort of young drivers earlier this week, Skye was the only UK driver to be selected, joining five girls from Austria, Malaysia, Czech, Australia and Slovakia.

All aged between 13 and 14, the six talented young female drivers have been identified as showing high promise and will be supported by More than Equal to maximise their potential.

The programme takes an Olympic-style approach to early talent detection and provides an age-appropriate environment designed to maximise the potential of the female athletes. As such, Skye will be supported to be one of the best prepared young female drivers to compete in motorsport as she prepares to climb the ranks.

The More than Equal programme was co-founded by former British F1 driver and 13 times Grand Prix winner, David Coulthard.

He said: ““We are pleased and proud to kick off a new era for young female drivers in motorsport with the launch of the More than Equal Driver Development Programme.

“This group of talented young drivers will now be part of a programme which has been designed with their age and their gender in mind, with specialist coaches supporting their journey and helping to maximise their potential. This is a hugely exciting moment.”

Skye is now looking forward to More than Equal’s first training and assessment camp at one of the world’s best testing circuits, the Wurz Center in Saalfelden, Austria this weekend.

We are incredibly proud of Skye and are looking forward to following her progress as she takes the next step in her exciting motorsport journey.
