Sporting fun at NetballFest

On Saturday, 21 September, Junior School pupils of all ages enjoyed The King’s School’s very first NetballFest.

Head of Junior School Sport, Miss Massey and Director of Netball in the Senior School, Miss Jones, organised the fun sessions for boys and girls from J1 to J4 and they were delighted that more than 40 pupils came along to join in the netball fun.

Miss Massey said: “NetballFest is the latest of so many excellent sporting opportunities on offer to children in the Junior School and it was fantastic to have so many pupils really getting stick into a range of fun, skill-based activities on a Saturday morning.

“They were very ably assisted by a group of Senior School netball players, Beth, Fliss, Eva and Isabella, before splitting into teams for some competitive game play.

“We saw the children grow in confidence and ability in the short time they were with us and I know that they will take what they learned back to their PE and games lessons in school.”

The event was such a success that there are plans to run a second NetballFest next half term.
