Our Junior School U11 Boys are Hockey Champions of the North of England!
The team travelled to the North England Hockey Finals battling bravely through hail, sleet and gusty winds to win their group beating Martongate 1-0, AKS Lytham 5-0 and Nafferton 3-1. They went on to win their semi-final against St Michaels 3-1.
The final was a tense, closely fought match against Ashville from Harrogate but King’s managed to score seconds before the final whistle which won them the competition!
Captain Barnaby Wallis was presented with a very impressive shield and every member of the team received a gold medal. Manager, Mrs Susan Tomlinson, said “The boys are extremely talented and thoroughly deserved to win this prestigious tournament. We are very proud that they have created history as King’s have never won this trophy before.”
