Many months of training and early mornings paid off for Adam Gloyne-Phillips (SHDUT), who recently qualified to compete in the Swim England North West Regional Swim Championships at the Liverpool Aquatics Centre.
The Championships took place over two weekends, with Adam qualifying for both the 200m IM and the 100 Fly.
Covid restrictions meant that Adam hadn’t had the chance to swim in a 50m pool since February 2020, making his 2 second PB in the 200m IM on the first weekend particularly impressive.
On Sunday 1 May, Adam competed in his second event, the 100m Fly, achieving another PB.
Despite holding his own against strong competition, he finished just outside the qualifiers for the final but Adam has enjoyed competing against the best swimmers in his age group and is now looking forward to building on the experience as he looks to the future.
