Students rise to the Bebras Computing Challenge

Recently, King’s pupils from J4 to Upper Sixth took part in the Bebras Computing Challenge, an annual challenge that sees schools in 60 countries participate, with 408,000 students in the UK alone putting their computing skills to the test.

We are very proud that, of the 391 King’s pupils who took part, 68 students achieved scores that placed them in the top 10% of all UK participants.

Oliver Hall, Head of Computer Science, is very proud of everyone who completed the challenge and explained why the competition is relevant and important for our students.

He said: “The Bebras Computer Challenge introduces the students to computational thinking and promotes structured problem solving.

“In a technology-driven world, computational thinking skills are increasingly valuable and this competition equips students with a framework to understand and solve diverse challenges and encourages informed decision making.

“I extend my congratulations to all of the students who participated and a big pat on the back to the 68 who made it into the top 10% in the UK.”
