On a Superfood journey with Infant 1

In Michaelmas term, Infant 1 children have been learning about the food they eat and where it comes from.

On a visit to The Food Warehouse on Sealand Road, the children became supermarket superheroes, just like the title character from their class book, Supertato

During their visit, they learned about where the food is stored when it comes into the supermarket, how it gets on the shelves for the customers and they even went inside one of the large refrigerators!

Before the visit, children had designed their own food packaging and they enjoyed comparing their designs to the products on the shelves.

Infant 1 teacher Mrs Williamson said: “When we take our learning outside of the classroom, it deepens the children’s understanding of the work they have done in school.”
