Video and Gallery: GCSE joy for talented students

Thrilled students were on cloud nine after picking up their GCSE results on Thursday.

All the hard work and dedication paid off for the talented year group with nearly 70% of all grades at 9-7 and 45% at the top 9-8 grades.

Eleven subjects celebrated more than 70% of grades at 9-7. It was a particularly successful year for one department with 50% of all English Language grades at 9 and 59% of all English Literature grades at 8-9.

Twins Rory and Evie Mallinson proved that two heads are better than one as they picked up outstanding results. Rory bagged four 9s, four 8s, two 7s and one 6 and Evie achieved five 9s, three 8s and two 7s.

Headmaster George Hartley congratulated the year group: “Each of you has demonstrated not only academic prowess, but also the perseverance and commitment required to succeed.

“Remember, these results are not just numbers on a piece of paper; they are the reflection of your efforts, the support of your parents and teachers, and the belief in your own potential. Whether you achieved what you hoped for or exceeded your expectations, be proud of what you have accomplished.

“Continue to aim high and work hard, and I look forward to welcoming the vast majority of you back to Sixth Form in September.”
