This year’s Head of School team has made an impressive start to the academic year, meeting regularly with the Headmaster and Head of Sixth Form, managing School Council meetings and putting into action their campaign pledges.
Head of School Jack Hayter (U6FOX) and Deputy Heads of School, Mahima Hansoge (U6WAL) and Hannah Evans (U6BRD) were appointed to their roles following a rigorous application and interview process in the last academic year.
The Head of School Team play a vital role both within the Sixth Form and as part of the wider school community, managing School Council meetings and meeting regularly with the Headmaster and Head of Sixth Form.
One of the team’s initiatives aims to improve vertical integration within the school.
Hannah explained: “We have started a mentoring scheme between Upper Sixth students and Remove form groups.
“Already, the scheme means that our newest pupils recognise more friendly faces around school, which is very reassuring for them.”
Hannah has also been trialling a buddy system for students who join King’s in other years and hopes to roll this out more widely over the course of the year.
Mahima outlined her plans to expand the Diversity and Inclusion programme.
She said: “I am passionate about spreading cultural and social awareness.
“We have a really strong EDI (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion) group at King’s and I am working with them on making our campaigns more visible around school, and encouraging more people to get involved.
“One of my aims to implement celebration days so that we can celebrate the diversity of our student body and instil an open mindset in pupils.”
Jack concluded: “We have had a really busy term so far and have enjoyed working with students and teachers across the school.
“Student voice is strong at King’s and the work we are doing this year will make it stronger for all pupils.”
