Our extensive co-curricular programme gives pupils at King’s the chance to get involved in a wide variety of clubs and activities every day.
This lunchtime, King’s pupils had no less than 13 clubs and activities to choose from. Whether they wanted to stretch their minds at one of our academic clubs, explore their creativity, practise their football skills or get active in the sports centre, there was a club for them.
One of our most popular lunchtime clubs is Badminton which attracts pupils from all year groups who meet every Wednesday to play friendly games and the occasional tournament. Today, it was mostly Removes (year 7) and Shells (year 8) pupils enjoying a game in the Sports Hall.
Ava Whittaker (RMSC) joined the club at the beginning of the year when she started at King’s Seniors.
She said: “I enjoy coming to badminton with my friends as it’s fun and also quite relaxing playing games against each other. I have been playing badminton at home for a few years but a lot of my friends had never played before and they really enjoy it now.”
Another experienced regular at the club is Abhishek Aravind (SHWAL). Abhishek plays Badminton for England, training regularly at Ellesmere Port Sports Village but Wednesday lunchtimes give him an opportunity to play the sport he loves with his friends, and even pass on a few expert tips to them!
